[Year 12 IT Apps] VISTA and your school

Hi all,
Have spoken to my techie who obviously replied that his solution would
firstly depend on each schools¹ existing config. Knowing that he has
supplied the following
he Fixes that have been done to improve Vista as follows.

Disable of some networking features, run the following commands on the
clients.....

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled

Also the following

Change the DelayedApps Registry Key, This allows all local apps to start
when specified, in our case start all local apps straight away.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Advan
ced\DelayedApps]
"Delay_Sec"=dword:00000000

We also Now Deploy the printers through Group Policy rather than Script
We also Now Deploy Mapped drives through Group Policy Rather than Script

We also Run our Localscripts from the Run Registry Key rather than through
Group Policy, We do this because Vist will then run it straight away rather
than wait the standard 60 sec then run policies.
