Hi Malcolm

I've been referred to this support file, not sure if it will help or not?

>If the teacher is based in a government school, the Failed

users (video) tutorial on our support page should rectify the problem.

Otherwise, if it were me, I'd ring Netspace direct and find out what's going
on. Your techies should do this for you, but if not, I'd do it myself.

Elluminate is one of the ICT initiatives that DEECD have invested heavily
in, and our ISP (and techies) should ensure it is accessible.

Just my 2c worth!

Hi Stuart

I have used a Mac no problems, the only issue we have is the secure socket
layer behind the netspace firewall, it is intermittent and painful and times
out. Our technicians blame Netspace and the edupass proxy.

also as far as the exam question I'm sure they have got the B answer
confused, it should say sacrificing quality for filesize.

Cheers

Hi John,

Details haven't been finalised, but at this stage, the Elluminate session
will be Tuesday week (June 8 th) Probably early evening (5-6)

It will be a general chat with VET IDM teachers to ascertain PD needs and
interest in using the Dept's web conferencing software. Suitable times will
be canvassed at this session.

I am hoping this will hold particular appeal to teachers in the country, who
find it so difficult to get to sessions in Melbourne. However, sessions are
open to all educators from all sectors and locations.

To use Elluminate you need to check you have Java on your computer (most do)
and a pair of headphones and mic. Video cam is helpful but not essential.

You can visit this link for more info and to test you can access Elluminate

http://www.education.vic.gov.au/researchinnovation/virtualconferencecentre/u
se/start.htm (follow the link to the training room)

I will post more details later in the week.

Hoping to catch up with you and others on Tuesday week.

Cheers

Claire

I attended another excellent PixelEd PD today. Todays PD was about video, it
was very informative, well presented, began on time and the practical
session was fun, I am going to need a lot more practice Rotoscoping.

The PixelEd PDs are not only informative but they are affordable. There are
quite a number of PDs advertised through edulists but there are very few
that I can afford to attend. PixelEd is one of the few that are always well
priced.
