Paul,
Like you, PixelEd is focussing on the Cert 3 course.
Of the Year 11 electives, we thought that CUFANM303A Create 3D digital
models and CUFRES201A Collect for broadcast or publication had less
to offer in terms of preparing for the Year 12 scored assessment.
And once again, that's not to denigrate those Units, they will suit some
teachers and students very well and there are lots of innovative ways
they could be presented. And it's possible to make links between these
and the new year 12 course. It's just that we saw other elective units
as being more applicable.
CUFDIG201A Maintain interactive content is the most obvious one for
introducing web authoring, so it would be a good idea to include it in
the year 11 course.
However, I think you need to read up on all of them to decide which
best suits you and your students eg ICAU3126B has very broad application
and would be an opportunity for those who want to persue scripting

Electives: select at least TWO electives to a minimum of 80 hours

CUFANM303A Create 3D digital models 75

CUVCOR08B Produce drawings to represent and communicate 60

CUFSOU301A Prepare audio assets 30

CUFCMP301A Implement copyright arrangements 20

CUFDIG201A Maintain interactive content 30

ICAU3126B Use advanced applications 40

CUFRES201A Collect for broadcast or publication 20

BSBDES201A Follow a Design Process 40
