I had thought (possibly mistakenly) that IE7 had extension/plugin
functionality similar to firefox. But I might have dreamt this (along
with other useful things like proper support for w3c standards etc)

I'm using the firefox extension, which can completely replace (or just
supplement) the existing bookmarks system. So clicking on the
delicious bookmarks button brings up a list of your tags and/or
bookmarks, or you can use it as a sidebar. I was assuming there was
similar functionality for IE, but having a cursory glance at the
website, I can't find it. But I don't use IE at home so I can't really
tell. Will have to have a play with it when I get back to a windows
machine.

But yes, basically, when I click on the delicious button in the
toolbar, it opens a sidebar (or drop-down menu for smaller screens)
with all my delicious tags and links and a search box for them,
without touching the current webpage.
