I have used epals in the past - a similar experience to Fiona! It is a
great real life experience though to talk about safety and security,
etiquette, appropriate behaviour, etc - even if they do transfer to
other accounts. Many schools (us included) have a block on hotmail and
msn specifically - these are the most popular email/messenger services
our students use.......hence they are limited to school email accounts
during the day.

I guess it all comes back to knowing your students and how they will
'behave' in the social setting of the eworld!!

Good luck
