[Yr11 Information Technology] Spread sheet Exercises for 2013

I do love introducing excel with the Candy is Dandy exercise from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/education/en-us/teachers/plans/Pages/using_graphs.aspx
Did it today with my new group of year 11's (I used bags of snakes, jubes, jelly beans  and jelly beans due to various allergies), they loved it - I wouldn't let them eat it until they at least got to the report. I've never seen a group work so productively!

I guess the challenge is how to we develop the critical thinking skills required to use the appropriate chart. I know that most of my kids have the usual Year 11 problems and then some more ...
