[Year 12 SofDev] Teaching SD and ITA in the same classroom

In our school we have a similar situation where this year we don't have
enough interest in ITA, so we just ran a SD class only. 

Students who have initially elected to take ITA have a choice to pick
something else all together or do SD. 

Although I had some students who were not quite prepared to do programming,
all in all it was not too bad. 

I'd imagine it'd be quite difficult to run both at the same place, same
time, since the focus is so different.

 

Next year we have the opposite situation, and we're running 2 ITA classes
only.

Yes I did that this year and it was terrible..I will not do it again, I
don't think I was able to do the best job for either class

Hi Everyone,

 

Since the year 12s have left I thought I might ask this question. This year
I have taught ITA and SD in the same classroom at the same time this year. I
have not been real happy with the way it went so I thought I would ask if
there anyone else in the same predicament and if so how did you handle it?
Or if anyone has some suggestions then I would be most grateful.
