  hi guys,
i started with the CD activity. then we went through the first chapter of ross's reason and argument book on meaning and definition so we could talk about the stipulative definitions of "fault" they were using in the activity. then we looked at morality in general and talked about how it affects our daily lives (e.g. laws). we read the first chapter of "the philosophy files" by stephen law and they have been set 2 journal questions - one on their own personal principles, and one on the link between moplus i had three days with them at year 11 study camp, which happens to be at la trobe uni and we stayed at glenn college. i took a couple of the keener ones over for a look at the department and the library and they got to meet ross - who didn't impress them as much as his office did!!!

hope you're all enjoying it. see you at the first sunday session - when is it, by the way?
  lyn.

The kids started to flag after the first period (it was a double) and so I abandoned going through all of the rankings, but I think I got enough out of it in terms of getting the kids to think about ethics in a slightly more sophisticated manner... I think.
