[Year 12 IT Apps] Dropdown list in Access

Hello Luke

don't know if the attached is useful. First, its done in Access 2003 ( the only version I have on the machine I am using right now); second, the description is not clear in regard to tables - are you talking about one or two or ...?

Anyhow, I have included two options with some explanation (but not much - go to Forms view). Hopefully the file can be opened in a later version of Access. If not and you still need to know, let me know in more detail where the dropdown list is to get its data from and where that data has to be put and I'll have a go on a more recent version (another machine!)

  On a form, I have some fields (Teacher Code, Subject, Learning Area etc.). This form is based on a Staff table.

  I would like to use the form to update the data in the Staff table. 

  I want to use a drop down list to select and add an item into the staff table, based upon the current record shown in the form.

  For example, if the record shows the Maths Learning Area, I only want Maths teachers in the dropdown list. When the record shows the LOTE Learning Area, I only want teachers of LOTE to appear in the drop down list.

  Whilst I have achieved this "manually", it is neither efficient nor desirable.

  How do I set up my form so that the dropdown list only shows the teachers for that Learning Area for that current record?
