Heard a funny quote at last week's Open Source Developers Conference.

"The 'cloud' was invented by people using powerpoint. They'd grown tired
of squares, circles and stars. The cloud was the next most underutilised
shape."

This was from a database software developer. He's now working on Drizzle
- a public fork of MySQL designed to be optimised for cloud and web
applications.
