We have a system where the students are given a SAC login and password
that only works in the room that they have their SAC's in. This can be
enabled and disabled on a lesson by lesson basis which creates a
different home drive for them that is inaccessible outside of SAC times.
The login is set up in such a way that they only have access to the
local PC and the products that they need for completing the SAC and the
rest of the College network is unaccessible. The SAC's are distributed
on USB, which are collected at the end of each (77min) lesson, but the
students are told that they MUST save their work to the network drive
too. Teaches good data recovery/redundancy techniques.

Cheers

Subject: [Year 12 IT Apps] Security for SACS

Hey all,

Just wondering of the procedures used when saving files during SACS -
would really like to organize a special area where students can only
access the documents during SACS time but not sure the best way to go
about it. At the moment files are saved in the student network which
means they can be accessed out with the SAC times. Is anyone out there
already doing something similar and if so can I have some suggestions
please!

Claire
