[Year 12 IT Apps] Another Software issue Repair function MSWord 2007

There is quite a cottage industry for repairing files and documents. A
student got himself a free lunch reconstructing a document for a staff
member here once.

I have had some luck opening using OpenOffice to saving these to ODT format,
then saving things back to MS Word DOC. Has to do with the robust format of
this strict document standard that strips out the quirky rubbish that can
accumulate inside word docs. It has something to do with doc errors being
interpreted as reserved features and is part of the reason why the open
document format is used in Canberra for document archiving. I bet there are
other tricks that you can dig up with google.

Regards Roland
