The way I would do it authentically is use  an .asp file that writes to
the database on the server. The scrip is run server side and the client
will not see the code.

This is awkward to set up because you would have to use an internet
server computer and it open a gateway for security issues.

If you use this script though, you only need to look at the source code
to find out what the password is.

Dear Groovers

 

Last year a nice little script was posted to provide simulated password
protection for a webpage.  I did use that as part of my virtual teams
approach with the students but forgot to keep a copy for me. Would
anyone have that on tap to share again?
