Hi Jock,
I'm using a project plan, just as Adrian is. Because it is good practice leading up to the exam and it does reinforce the value of planning a job rather than going in gung ho.

	Hi all,
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I can't seem to find any evidence to suggest that students need to complete a project management plan in U 4 O1.
	Have I missed something ?

		Rockets! .. cool :-)

I have a dusty old Gantt chart that I whip out with my technicians every time I need to do a major equipment rotation at our college. Here is a nice one that I use in the classroom. it is an instructable that explains "How to Organize and Cook Holiday Dinner for a Crowd" .. planning people, time and resources using a coloured spreadsheet to stick on the fridge. As an example, I like its appeal for girls, especially those doing something similar for our year 12 formal.

PS: the Instructables is a very addictive website with oodles of hands on technology projects. Enjoy!

I started using project management and simple Gantt charts with year 8
students in a rocketry unit. In a group they build a small
working rocket (with real chemical motors and a parachute).
In the planning stage they have to allocate tasks and sequence them.
I.E. they work out roles and precedence. Using this tool I cut the
project's time in half and kept the kids honest!
