[Year 12 IPM] OT - Edumail Exasperation

So you *are* going to edumail, just via outlook, not the web. Your
comment that you never go to Edumail threw me.
Outlook is OK, but I think it is too powerful (bloated?) for just email
use. The very powerful groupware features of it, the calendar
scheduling etc are just not utilised enough in schools (I've been in) to
justify it. The connectivity with mobile phones etc is extremely useful
and once I've laboriously entered my timetable into it I find that being
able to download it into my phone is great. (Got to explore a method of
importing First Class timetables into Outlook!)
But, for an efficient, *lightweight* email client that works beautifully
and is cross-platform, you can't beat Thunderbird. I have found that to
be the best solution since I need to switch from Linux to Windows
occasionally on the laptop. (Tried Evolution - didn't like it)
