[elearning] e-Waste policies and legislation

Hi Folks,

I am just wondering if there is an e-waste policy at your school and if it
falls in line with any legislation/policy/regulations that you can refer
to both within and outside your school.

Federal Government initiatives including:

In 2011, the Australian federal parliament passed the Product Stewardship
Act and established the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme.
This made it law for companies that manufacture or import computers or TVs
to recycle end-of-life product and meet specific requirements.
Whilst these initiatives are intended to give all Australians reasonable
access to an e-waste collection service by December 2013 there doesn’t
seem to be any laws forcing people or organisations ( schools ) to dispose
of e-Waste properly.
