We have MakerBots at our school
They are sturdy and are a good 3D printer . Yes they are on the pricey side but we have never had a problem with them.
You can download the software from the MakerBot website to prep and print your models
Also you need to take into account how many classes will be using them
In my experience 1 printer is not enough
We started with 3 a few years ago, we currently have 8 with a view to buy more for primary campus
We have great service from where we purchased them from with parts and filament etc are easy to source and buy

What ever printer you buy you need to make sure there is after sales help, parts and materials are ready available to purchase

I hope this helps
If you have anymore questions don’t hesitate to ask
