[Design and Technology] A Community Evening of STEM at Viewbank College, 23 August at 7pm

The Viewbank College Friends of STEM are running a fantastic event on the 23th August - Maths Led me to the Stars with Professor Maddison, pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic Innovation & Change) and Professor of Astrophysics at Swinburne University of Technology.


Sarah will share her story of how she got to play with some of the world's largest radio telescopes and supercomputers to understand how tiny grains grow to become planets like the Earth.  She will also talk about the value of studying STEM, some of the global megatrends we face which require creative technological solutions, and the current and future state of the Australian STEM workforce.  She hopes to convince you that STEM  is more than a 4-letter acronym, and that STEM is all about Shaping lives and inspiring communities, Transforming industries; Exploring new frontiers; and Mobilising social and economic change.

This will be followed by STEAM EXPO (showcasing students STEAM projects).

Students, their families and teachers are welcome to attend, and entry is a gold coin donation.
