Hi all,

Had quite a few replies, so thought I'd post to all.

The ppt attached is pretty simple, but to the point & a great starter for
your boss to browse through..
So if anyone else plans a technology upgrade for your faculty 7 school,
here's how I've gone about it, so hope this helps you get the ball
rolling...

1) Think big, but no what you want
2) I promoed the range of technologies we don't have (the 45k package)
knowing I wouldn't get that, but knowing what I wanted & needed most ; )
3) Emphasize that what we teach today is not just 'on the tools' stuff &
emphasie how important these sorts of technolgies are... & the positive
result they will have on your staff & kids
4) Talk to other KLAs about cool TAS technology & how they 'could' be used
in their faculty
5) Keep plugging 'engagement'
6) With particular reference to the roland of rapman... emphaise the
extensive application of numeracy
7) Sell it well with what you can use it for 'whole school'

* Special thanks to Gary Watson from Nepean Christian School... you're ideas
really helped *

In my final 'talk turkey' meeting with the boss, along with stating the
obvious advantages my faculty will gain from this machine 7-12, I cited
specific examples of how other faculties could 'engrave australian icons on
a map in HSIE' or create 'signage or recipe boards in home ec' etc, etc

The tip of the iceberg for me though, was my plans to have a branch off G&T
team...
The G&T TTT (triple T)
Tremendous Technology Team ; )

To create the end of year school awards!
Great for me to work with the G&T, but great use of the technology too ; )

Also pointed out the possibilty & potential to create signage & staff key
tags etc etc..

Hope this helps?

Cheers
