Thanks for the DDV (dynamic data visualisation), Roland.

The dynamic aspect of the DV does raise the question of how such graphics can be archived after the source site dies, or deletes your favourite visualisations (vizs?)

It would be unfeasible (and incredibly boring) to record the DDV as a movie and display the content of each node as it's hovered over...
So, how will we store DDVs for posterity?
And how can they be embedded into slideshows without live links to the internet?
Do any/some/all DDV sites like this offer a downloadable player for their dynamic data downloads?

OK, here is a fav infographic .. and some questions.

Explore this visualisation and ask yourself the following questions:
• what hacks do you recall happening and what surprised you?
• what is the likely impact of a data breach and who will this hurt the most?
• what steps could a company or user take to prevent this from happening or minimise the impact?
• what is the value of visualisations like this?

Thanks for the input, Phillip.

Infographics currently appear in unit 1. In 2020 they are promoted to unit 3.
Is this dumbing-down unit 3 or smartening-up KK from unit 1?
In 2020, unit 1 and 2 outcomes will be just as meaty as those in units 3 and 4.

Speaking of which, days ago I asked if anyone had a favourite infographic they would care to send me for a slideshow.
It turns out that no-one in Victoria has one.
Not one.
This is remarkable - and discouraging.

As our great ex-leader Tony Abbot said in 2013, "No one, however smart, however well-educated, however experienced, is the suppository of all wisdom."

I don't know everything, and only our collected contributions will make a really great suppository.

I am willing to contribute to these magnificent lists, but if hundreds of practising teachers don't also contribute why should I?
I will happily stroll back down to the beach and let you use your own suppositories.

Love, as always,
Grumpy Mark

I'm sure my Informatics class is going to double in size now that it's called Data Analytics!

I'm pretty disappointed with this new study design. Plenty of flaws have been left in, ie: 2NF and references. I'm at a loss of words about this fancy graph making infographics or "dynamic data visualisations"...
