[Yr7-10it] Interesting Software Tools

Colleagues,

I have recently discovered two very useful tools which I am presently
investigating for incorperation to various courses for next year (both
no cost).

- DENIM: A tool for Web Site Concepting and Storyboarding,
http://dub.washington.edu/projects/denim/

- iReports: A database reporting tool which is like MS-Access reports,
only much better. In almost zero minutes flat, I was able to generate
meaningful reports from a mysql server and our (ms-sql server) reporting
system. Available from http://jasperforge.org/sf/projects/ireport
Sure, iReports is meant as the GUI designer for a java-based web report
delivery system, but for school purposes, it produces perfectly
reasonable HTML or PDF reports as a stand-alone product.

Cheers,
