Before i reinvent the wheel I was wondering if any one has developed a
task booklet or fill in for u203 I would prefer to give my students
reminders about what is required.
I was going to use the Jordan's outcome from the vitta cd.
If you can help please let me know I will be start it just after the
term break.

Also has anyone done Outcome 3 before outcome 2. looking at it for next
year it might be the better way through it. so i was thinking an order
of u2o1 u2o3 u2o3.

G'day Mark

I got my students to build a game around the theme of Africa / Malaria /
Doctors without Borders etc. Nice social context that fits in nicely
with my student backgrounds. Have also tried doing something for the
local Rotary Club around the global warming. To do this justice you do
have to have some material to stimulate their curiosity. At this age
they seem have a powerful sense of right and wrong, social justice etc.
Bill Kerr has a good case study of his collaborative work with the
development of an Africa game.

As my dears tackle the programming tasks for U2O1 (I did U2O2
first to

I have this nagging feeling last felt many years ago... it's
sort of a
strange buzz that this could actually be fun, or useful.

Memories of the old English communication project, perhaps,
where we
actually got the kids doing something relevant, rewarding,
challenging
and beneficial. The kids used to go reading to old folks,
telling
stories to kindergarten kids, organising events etc.

Has anyone else out there given pre-thought to the opportunities
this
outcome could present for getting something useful done within
the
	school or community?

One idea leaps to mind - several primary schools in our cluster
have
virtually no website. Our kids could go out and develop the
sites for
them. Since the outcome could take a lot of real time (visits,
re-visits etc), I'm thinking of starting it very soon and
stretching it
	over several weeks.

	Could be interesting!
