Subject: [vet-mm] Free Actionscript 3.0 Projects with YouTube Videos

Hi everyone, (and sorry for any cross posts)

Next term I will be doing Actionscript 3.0 with my Year 9 students.

We will be using some of Kevork's excellent resources, but to supplement these I have also made some YouTube Tutorial videos using Camtasia.

Camtasia is an awesome tool for creating online instruction, and I recommend people try it out. (There is a 30 day free trial available from Techsmith).

Feel free to use any of these materials, and to Keepvid download the YouTube videos and put them on your school server if you want to.

Some other Actionscript Projects, but not all with detailed Video Tutorials are these ones:

Making a Photo Slideshow in Flash

Does not use Actionscript, but uses a complex layers setup in Flash

Toggle Button to Show and Hide Pictures

Has a Flash Builder YouTube tutorial, and a PDF of AS3.0 code that I made.

Matching Game I - Matches Pics with text boxes with sound

Has a link to a step by step build it up to a full game set of tutorials.

Matching Game with Sounds (Leaders and Flags)

This one is a follow on from the first one, but matches Pictures to Pictures

Putting a whole bunch of SWFs into a Slideshow one after each other

Drive Car Around the Screen

Flash Talking Animals Game for Little Kids

Uses some YouTube videos and a PDF of some AS3.0 code etc.

Soccer Game (adapted from Mr Sun)

Avoider Game
