The VITTA Office is getting very excited with ICT Week being only just around the corner. By now you should have received information about ICT Week in your school but if you haven’t seen it, here’s a short description about what the week aims to achieve.

ICT Week is a national program which celebrates ICT in all facets of society, including career pathways and best practice use in schools. ICT is everywhere in today’s globalised world and skills in ICT are increasingly becoming highly valued in the workplace. By participating in ICT Week, VITTA is further committing to building community awareness of the importance of ICT in today’s technology rich age.

VITTA is pleased to be at the forefront of ICT Week, a long-term initiative which has become a national celebration in recent years. There are lots of events planned for next week, including our flagship event, the free ICT & Careers Expo for students and teachers taking place at Melbourne High School on August 1 (download free tickets from www.ictweek.vitta.org.au ), Natcoll Short Multimedia Courses , a PixelEd Industry Dinner , and some new initiatives including the ICT Industry Bus Tour (there are still a couple of vacant places so register today at www.vitta.org.au/trainingevents ). Make sure you get involved in the celebrations by participating in at least one of these exciting programs, or by hosting your own ICT Week event in your school or community.

For more information about all of these events, or ICT Week in general, please visit the ICT Week website at www.ictweek.vitta.org.au or contact the VITTA Office on (03) 9495 6836. We also look forward to hearing about how you plan to celebrate the week.

Kind regards,
VITTA Office
