SUBJECT:	VCE VET SCORED ASSESSMENT: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR
ASSESSORS - MARCH / APRIL 2006

The VCAA will be conducting a series of professional development
workshops for assessors of scored VCE VET programs in 2006. The
workshops will include:

*	Networking opportunities
*	Detailed investigation of the assessment process for the purpose
of: 
o	enhancing understanding of the design rules of the assessment
task types
o	applying scoring criteria
*	Task design and development 
*	An overview of scored assessment for NEW assessors in 2006

The workshop activities are designed for all assessors of VCE VET
programs but an overview for NEW assessors will be scheduled at the
start of the day.  New assessors in 2006 should familiarise themselves
with the structure and details of the scored assessment process by
reading the relevant materials: the relevant Assessment Guide, sample
Assessment Plans, VET Coursework Assessment Records (VCARs), scoring
criteria sheets and Task Sample booklets (where available). These
documents can be found on the VCAA website:

Time:	  	New Assessors: 		9.30am registration to commence
at 9.45am
All other Participants: 	10.15am registration to commence at
10.30am
Program will conclude at 3.30pm
A light lunch will be provided.

A registration form is provided. The main part of the program will
involve workshop activities and participants will be assigned into
groups based on program areas.  For planning purposes, we ask that
registrations for Engineering Studies and Sport and Recreation be
emailed no later than Tuesday 28 February 2006, and for all other
programs by Thursday 30 March 2006.

Email registration forms to: vcaavet.pdreg at edumail.vic.gov.au

Reimbursement for travel over 100 km return journey will be available to
participants from schools and RTOs. Public service guidelines apply -
all vehicles must be comprehensively insured. Travel claim forms will be
available on the day.

Hi All,

Does anybody know when/if there will be an assessor PD for VET MM Cert
III teachers this year? Last year it appeared to be at Moonee Valley.
