What are the ATOM Awards?
 
 The ATOM Film, Television and Multimedia Awards recognise the achievements of
 Australian and New Zealand professionals, educators and students in 31
 categories.  The Awards are open to students, production companies,
 independent film-makers, educational bodies and producers, and celebrate the
 very best of Australian and New Zealand product.
 
 The Awards and the presentation ceremony are designed to facilitate networks
 between Media students and industry professionals, making it unique among a
 host of other media related awards.
 
 Primary and Secondary Schools are encouraged to enter the following
 categories:
 
 For students:
 * Best Junior (K-8) Film/Video production.  (includes music clips, short
 drama, documentaries, experimental.
 * Best Junior (K-8) Multimedia Production
 * Best Senior (9-12) Multimedia Production (multimedia production:
 combination of image, text, audio, video and interactivity)
 * Best Secondary Animation (claymation, drawing, cell, 2D, 3D)
 * Best Secondary Documentary
 * Best Secondary Fiction
 * Best Secondary Music Video
 
 For teachers:
 * Best Primary Education Resource
 * Best Secondary Education Resource
 * Best Multimedia Learning Reference
 * Best Educational Website
 * Best Indigenous Resource
 
 There is also a ³Teachers Award² (which can¹t be applied for, but is good to
 know about)
 This Award is made at the discretion of the judges, and recognises the
 commitment, dedication and inspiration of a teacher or school, and which the
 judges con observe informing a body of student work as submitted in either
 the primary, secondary or tertiary categories of the ATOM Awards.  The
 Teachers¹ Award can neither be sought nor applied for, and is given solely
 at the judges discretion.

 Dates for the diary
 
 * Entries close: 14th July (apologies for getting it wrong last mailout)
 * Judging - August
 * Awards Ceremony - October 7th, Cinema 2 at ACMI, Federation Square
