I Just checked the VCAAs website and there doesn't appear to be any updated information yet.

However, the advice is in print
For a summary of changes see the VCAA Bulletin No.23, March 2005, Supplement 2, p12
Also the 2006-2009 Study Guide should have been sent to your school by now. I got mine at the start of term 2.

Basically in 2006 Exam 1 for both Math Methods and Specialist Maths is a "1 hour technology- free exam" zone. A sheet of formulas will be provided
Further Maths exams and Exam 2 for Methods and Specialist can use approved technology and one bound reference with annotations

There are minimal changes to the theory covered in all unit 3&4 math subjects - BUT check the study design so that you know what they are

I'm preparing my year 11 Method students for the change in exam conditions by giving them open book tests that meet the conditions for exam 2. In unit 2 I will introduce some tests based on the conditions in Exam 1. They're already getting an appreciation for the limitations in relying on looking up the text book during a test :-)

Hello list,

Can you point me in the direction of websites to find out the changes coming
up in year 11 and 12 maths for 2006?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My previous association with VCE has been as an IPM teacher for the last
three years and tutoring Year 11 and 12 students in Methods and Further
Maths.

Is there any credence to:
Some of next year's courses will be conducted with no use of graphical
calculators?

Some of next year's courses will be conducted with the emphasis on the use
of advanced graphical calculators?

Thanks for your time , help and advice

Regards, Bill Oldham <:)
