Hi thrillseekers

I refer you to SD exam 2016, A6.

AFAIK, during an OS update, existing OS files are COPIED to a folder like 'old' and then DELETED from the computer. That qualifies as an archive since the original copy is deleted after being copied elsewhere.

Yet the question insists that "the updating software creates a new folder called ‘OperatingSystem.old’ and copies some of the computer’s files to that folder".

My old mum always taught me that copying files and retaining the original is a backup.

I believe the question is flawed.

Logic says that old OS files are moved (copied, then the original is deleted) - which is an archive.

But the wording of the Q definitely says that original files are copied - which is a backup.

So - who wins?

Discuss.
