Thank you for the clarification

So where I see resources referring to 'data acquisition software' I can pretty much ignore it?

Yes, it is ambiguous. It only makes sense when taken to mean that the org is acquiring info from the public using the internet.

Dear colleagues

The key knowledge relates to ways in which customer/client information can be collected by an organisation rather than collecting information about a website. The context for this area of study is databases and how organisations can collect data for these databases via websites. Associated with this process are the security concerns/responsibilities when collecting personal/private information and the legal obligations that organisations have with respect to the data.

Paula

I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.

What does the following key knowledge point mean:

"Techniques used by organisations to acquire data on websites and the reasons for their choice"

Is it related to methods used to collect data from customers? For example having a feedback form or email link on the site to allow a customer to input data

Or is it related to collecting statistics regarding a website? E.g. Google analytics

Or is it both???
