Hi all,

psiphon appears a significant new IT application.

One the one hand it's a little different because we have a University Law
Faculty 'aiding and abetting' people to break the laws of other countries
and on the other hand, apparently Aussie kids have used it to bypass their
school's filters (website blocking system).

Students can perhaps fairly easily bypass your school's webpage filtering
systems by downloading the application, and running it at home while they
log into it from school. Old mate Clarky reckons: 'Yes Nic's right at you
needing to configure school firewall/gateways. You could drop traffic not
originating from your internal proxy. Note that Psiphon can be configured
to use a port other than 443 and an external server of any IP/URL address'

'psiphon is a censorship circumvention solution that allows users to
access blocked sites in countries where the Internet is censored.'

psiphon is funded by: Open Society Institute (Soros Foundation).
