Hi Lesley,
I'm no expert, but I think you can edit them with Fireworks.  You should see the Fireworks button on the Properties Inspector (tool bar).

For any Dreamweaver experts out there...

In Dreamweaver you can make your own Flash buttons but is it possible to make them wider? When I've done this, all it does is stretch the text on the button.

Thanks in anticipation - Dreamweaver and CSS etc etc is making me feel very dumb...
