I have had the year 7's create their digital portfolio's during IT this semester. I have been able to do this because this group have had the best range of IT skills and were really competent in word, excel etc - usually I have to concentrate on these areas.

This semester we have looked at Flash, Photoshop Elements, some Office and Frontpage. The hope is that they will feel confident enough to add to their portfolio by themselves. I have been really impressed with what they have come up with so far.

To me, my main aim was to get them to take ownership of their portfolios as the other staff do not have the skills to assist them during class time. I hope that, when their teachers say "add this to your portfolio" they will have the confidence to do just that.
