[Year 12 IPM] VITTA Annual Conference 2006 --- Standards

Hi everyone,
Going back to Damien's example of a Flash Unit - In the past I have taught Flash at each year level from year 7 to 9 and this year I will teach it to year 10, (but these students have had no formal IT classes in previous years)
 
So how is my year 10 class supposed to be compared to a year 7 class, presuming neither have had any exposure to the software, some may have a whole semester on it, others may have just a couple of weeks learning Flash - how will the 'STANDARDS' take all these factors into account?

The problem appears to lie in the correlation of state-wide standards.
Certainly at the very recent workshop I attended on VELS reporting and
Assessment, nobody from the department was able to address these issues
in any detail. We were effectively told to wait.
