Awesome to meet up with everybody at Jeff's Shed this week! Sorry that there
were no more free iPod touches to hand out for the late registrations
although you still ended up hearing what many reckon is Gary Stagers best
ever keynote address! I still have an image of an IWB bear waving a chainsaw
stuck in my head .. that and music by the black eyed peas on the boppy
closing number.

I was delighted to discover that #ACEC2010 turned out to be the number one
hashtag in Australia for a couple of days, betting records set even by Hey
Hey and Q&A .. there is a goldmine of great information buried amongst
thousands of posts so even if you didn't go, make sure you explore this for
links, ideas and reflections. Academics can also browse the papers that were
presented at the conference.

Check out some of the interesting artwork by ECAWA president Robin. He did
some freehand doodles and photos during the conference on a notepad,
coloured them in on his laptop on the flight home then tossed them into
Flickr when the plane landed in WA! It was great to meet up with him and
learn some of his artwork secrets so watch out at future meetings when I
squint my eyes, lick my pencil tip and start to scribble an caricature of
your image :-)

ECAWA will host the 2012 conference so watch this space.

No one person can pull off an event like this .. it takes an entire village.
