Dear Kent

thanks for your comments

as explained in the email i have slightly delayed releasing a free tool while i work out how to digitally sign the visual basic code. i am still investigating if i can do without incurring costs.

i literally decided to investigate digital signing while completing the blog post - it does takes some time just to document something like that and writing up the security issues got me thinking if there was a better way

your feedback is quite useful though : your approach provides valuable confirmation of the need to avoid the lowest security settings

As I was unable to actually view either 'the tool' or a version of, 'the tool', I found it frustrating reading the blog at the given link. It felt like I was just chasing my tail trying to find 'the tool'....which I never found, so just gave up in the end....
If this is a 'tease'...I was not impressed.
Kent.

hi all

(vic teachers only!)

few years ago i made a VELS auditing spreadsheet ...used macros to put VELS on one page and give a visual record of coverage ...seemed to get quite well used when i put it on the web for free download)

i've got a new version ready to go ...does a bit more

i was just about to upload it but then thought i'd work out how to digitally sign it so the macro security thing is less of an issue ..not that its been a problem ... but i don't feel comfortable saying 'turn macro security right down'

that aside, i'd be quite interested in the meantime in gauging if there is much interest in the tool though

cheers
