New Victorian ICT Industry Plan 2005 – 2010
The Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Marsha Thomson,
has unveiled the Bracks Government’s global vision for Victorian ICT
industry with the launch of the Victorian ICT Industry Plan 2005–2010.  The
Plan identifies new initiatives and programs to support future industry
growth, particularly in the crucial areas of government procurement, export
and investment, workforce development and collaboration.

Launch of $US6M Victoria-Israel R&D Fund - VISTECH
The Minister for Innovation, John Brumby, joined Israeli Ambassador,
Naftali Tamir, to launch a US$6 million Victoria-Israel Science and
Technology R&D Fund (VISTECH).  The fund aims to promote, facilitate and
support joint science and technology projects between Victorian and Israeli
entities that will lead to new or improved products in the global market.
VISTECH will fund up to 50 per cent of joint R&D costs of Israeli-Victorian
market-oriented projects in areas like biotechnology environmental
technologies, healthcare and advanced manufacturing.

CollabIT - AIIA’s innovative partnering program
Working in partnership on a new collaborative ICT industry project, AIIA
and Multimedia Victoria will offer like minded companies the opportunity to
form collaborative networks, or clusters, to source new markets and
increase sales.  Expressions of interest in the project are currently being
sought from companies or individuals in the Victorian ICT industry prior to
an information session in February 2006.
