The 2015 GROK Learning challenge to learn Python will start in a couple of weeks. Highly recommendedQuentin. I have found the challenge engaging, collaborative and very well structured.

We will enrol all our year 11 IT (and some junior school students). I will post some details about a webinar I am running with Amanda Rablin on Monday to chat to the team that runs this. Watch this space.

Some students have been able to use the oculus rift in the year 10 programming class, and it would be interesting to see how they could use data visualisation in a virtual (or augmented reality with the new Hololens) to satisfy the outcomes. As my first year teaching VCE IT, I am looking for any tips or suggestions (Even warnings) about using an environment like Unity3D or the C# language in relation to VCE IT. How adaptable it is to other outcomes, or if I should just abandon ship and start with another programming language.
