Hi Lucas,
What we did at Lara SC was buy a domain from Google, which cost less than $50.00. All our users are allocated a Gmail userid; students are studentid at ourdomain, staff use TO number. Works really well. We started with 30 gB storage per user and the techs say it is now unlimited. We access it via out ISP. Hope this helps. Email me directly for more information: lydall.quentin.c at edumail.vic.gov.au<mailto:lydall.quentin.c at edumail.vic.gov.au>

Hi all,
Sorry for the crosspost.

I’m currently having issues with Google Drive not synchronising and working when I log into the eduSTAR network here at Lalor SC. I’m trying to convince my IT network guys that Google Drive is working in other schools, as they believe it cannot work in public schools. I believe it’s a firewall issue that’s preventing me (and all other staff who use Drive) to synchronise their files at school – hence instead of not using the technology, we instead keep our sync to using our home network.

We’ve currently lodged a request with our ISP but it’s taking over a month to get any sort of progress on this issue, so I’m wondering if anyone is using Drive seamlessly in their school, I’d like to pass on some of the technical staff details to our staff for further communication.

Any tips or tricks for synchronising Drive would be appreciated.

thanks,
Lucas
