Hey Lucas, for semester 1 you probably want to shorten the Networks outcome and distribute the time to the other two. In semester 2 you probably want attribute more time to the Programming outcome than the Data Vis one ... the spreadsheeting element should be fast. I use term 4 for Outcome 3's group project.

If you have a student teacher during the year, you might want to give them the "easier" outcomes (I've never met a student teacher I'd trust with the Programming outcome, but they do great things with Data Vis).

I'd offer a starter task but don't have anything really wow-tastic. I'm sure someone will provide something over the next few weeks.

Darren

Subject: [Yr11 Information Technology] Year 11 IT Structure

Hi

I'm teaching Year 11 IT for the full year for the first time next year.

I've currently got to prepare a timeline for my classes for 2015.

At the moment, I've structured the classes so that there are 5 weeks for each Area of Study (there are 30 weeks I have to work with). Is there any outcome/area of study that deserves a longer look?

At my school, we are also asked to set transition activities for students to complete over the holidays.

I'm looking to find/create an activity that students will be able to complete that are interesting and can motivate them in their IT studies for next year

Does anyone have any transition activities that they use and work well for classes?

Thanks
Lucas
