Dear colleagues

Good news!

Information and Communication Technology and design and technology is
included as one of the eight Learning areas to be incorporated into the
curriculum in schools for the next 10 years (page 14 of the Melbourne
Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians December 2008)
endorsed by all Australian Education Ministers available at the MCEETYA
website:

I believe the lobbying that many of us did following publication of the
Draft Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians has been
recognised. Perhaps it would have been good to have Information and
Communications Technology and Design and Technology recognised as
separate Learning Areas; however, at least design and technology is in
there!

Please forward this email to others who may be interested in this
development.

Kind regards, Lorraine.
