[Technical] Dvorak keyboard

Yes, I can type Dvorak... about as well as a year 8 student on a "normal" keyboard.

People don't go near my laptop now if they need to check the internet or the timetable.

When people ask why(????!!!!) I just say, " tryin' something different". You can get stick on labels to place over your current keyboard.

But then I point out the HomeKey layout efficiency on the QWERTY. Why would anyone place only one vowel and a semi-colon on those home keys????

I tell my juniors about the story of why they designed the QWERTY keyboard and why the English speaking world has kept it. Then I challenge them to find the longest word possible that can be made out of just the home keys. I can get SALADAS'S, as in the "saladas's box was broken."

TIP.. don't change your keyboard to DVORAK then leave to answer a phone call. If you have a password enabled screen saver, and a normal keyboard layout,it is a frustrating experience to try and enter the correct password.

ROTFL ... I recall a tech who did that to his keyboard so nobody could use
his computer. Can you type Devorak?
