2018  AKORN Cardboard Engineering Challenge

 Invitation for your school to participate in a STEM based
 
MIDDLE SCHOOL WORKSHOP
 
 

·     Date:                FRIDAY   27 April  2018

·      Venue:             University of Melbourne ­ 10 La Trobe St.
Melbourne

·     Time:                9:15 am ­ 2:30 pm

·     Who:                 The opportunity for six teams of SIX Years 7 -9
Students interested in

learning about Engineering through a design thinking process while engaging
their thinking and reasoning skills in a fun hands-on environment

·    Cost:                $395 per team  ­  covers program, morning tea,
lunch, all materials

 

 
WHAT IS IT?

Akorn Educational Services is excited to be offering this new Engineering
Challenge in 2018. (It is anticipated that we will announce additional dates
later in the year.)
 
Students will work in teams to undertake a collaborative learning task
(challenge).  This challenge will be to design and build a product using the
engineering process.  The day starts with an information session followed by
the workshop in which students will design and, using Make-Do components and
cardboard, create human centered cardboard creations.  Students will gain
additional life skills such as communication, collaboration and critical
thinking as well.  Specific design brief will be given to students at the
workshop.
 
Participation is limited so be quick to register your school & students.  If
you would like to increase the awareness and knowledge of engineering,
science and technology to your students through this program please contact:
