This information outlining a teacher professional development program is sent on behalf of Georgine Bridgeman (Akorn Educational Services) and sponsors of this program.

AKORN is pleased to announce that through a special collaboration with
ENGINEERS AUSTRALIA, NORMAN DISNEY & YOUNG
AND VICTORIA UNIVERSITY
it is able to offer an opportunity to a staff member from your school to
participate in the 2012
Engineering Teachers @ Work Professional Development Program
* Dates: Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 - June 2012
* Venues: Thursday - Norman Disney & Young - 115 Batman St, West Melbourne
Friday - Victoria University - School of Engineering & Science (Electrical
Engineering) - Footscray Park Campus
* Time: 9:30 am - 4:00 pm daily
* Who: Science/Engineering teachers who are interested in:
* Promoting student learning and development in Engineering
* Providing a balance of theory and practice
* Joint planning
* Addressing the current shortage of Engineers in Australia
* Cost: $145 per person
Research confirms that teachers need both in-house and external professional development to
enhance their capabilities. This curriculum-focused professional learning will explore some of the
disciplines of Engineering and provide participants with knowledge, tools and suggested class
activities to enable them to take Engineering into their classrooms.
Registration numbers will be strictly limited
