Hi Andrew et al

I respect any and all decisions made with others' teaching decisions! I've debated with myself long and hard about the right way forward and I have decided to run with WPF, though I don't think it's for the feint-hearted. I am holding back on using the MVVM approach though since I think it would break their brains.

I have come to this decision because WPF is extraordinarily powerful, ties in the XML concepts really nicely, seems to have a bright future (even with the demise of Silverlight) and is LOADS of fun.

Take that as you may - I will report back on my success or failure at the end of the year.

Good luck to you everyone in the upcoming year.

Stephen Trouse (Flinders Christian Community College, Tyabb)

Visual studio still works to teach OOP and provides an easy entry to events and properties

a little harder to show classes and creating objects with properties but not too hard

the interface is easy drag and drop, but some students can be distracted by trying to involve the pretty factor

usually when I tell them that I am colour blind they go back to a little plainer

also get your students to look at https://www.usability.gov <https://www.usability.gov/>
