Hi
I prefer by SACs.
I needed to do the attached list to help keep track of KKs and SACs.

Hi Michael,

I could? What I usually start by doing is organising the KK points into chapters, but I can see if they can organised better by SAC? Perhaps I could do a draft chapter list for each and post it up here for comment?

Cheers,
Adrian

HI Adrian,

I’d prefer to keep the text to the study design only. I figure the kids have so much to learn anyway!

Also have you considered splitting the content up by outcome (U3O1, U3O2, U4O1, U4O2) rather than chapters you have now?

Thanks for all your work with the text. Keeping the subject alive!

Hi everyone,

Hope the year has started well for you!

With the new study design being posted yesterday, I will be beginning to work on the new edition of Software Development: Core Techniques and Principles for the new course.

I would like to ask some questions of you however (as part of the Analysis phase!). I don't mind if you want to reply here or off-list.

One of the things I have been careful about with the text, is representing the entire course (and not much else). In writing it, I map all of the KK points to the chapters and then write the content - ensuring that I don't step outside the bounds of the Study Design (or at least - not too far). I also ensure that the PSM and the glossary points are all included and discussed at appropriate points. Some KK points are very succinct while others are quite open - and we rely on the community / VCAA to help define the boundaries. In the past, I have clarified points with VCAA so that I can represent these boundaries as best I can - both for teachers and for students.

However, is this an approach that you all like?

That is, would you prefer a text that is the study design (and nothing else)? Or would you prefer a text that contains extra material that allows students to expand their knowledge if they wish?

Please let me know your thoughts! Any other feedback would also be much appreciated!

Regards,
Adrian Janson
