Hi Scott,

Yes, like Damien, I ensure they demonstrate all the VCAA programming
requirements
<https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/vce/computing/2020_VCE_AppComp_SoftwareDev_Programming_requirements.docx>
in
VB in U3O1 SAC and they can produce their SAT in any language I feel
competent in marking.
I have a text book designed for teachers who are new to teaching the
subject (Content is very focused on the Study Design - nothing beyond)
with a chapter on VB examples to meet the Programming Requirements
<https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/vce/computing/2020_VCE_AppComp_SoftwareDev_Programming_requirements.docx>and
a chapter on how to do all the SAC
<https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/curriculum/vce/vce-study-designs/computing/advice-for-teachers-appliedcomputing/Pages/PerformanceDescriptors.aspx>
and SAT
<https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/curriculum/vce/vce-study-designs/computing/advice-for-teachers-appliedcomputing/Pages/Uni3and4SoftwareDevelopmentSchoolAssessedTask.aspx>
assessment tasks. The VCAA Advice for Teachers pages are quite good too:

My Textbook: Paperback copy:  https://www.vicfarrell.com.au/shop/
There is an e-book available on Amazon
<https://www.amazon.com.au/Software-Development-Applied-Computing-Design-ebook/dp/B07WJRHPCF/ref=sr_1_1?qid=1565860890&refinements=p_27Victoria+Farrell&s=digital-text&sr=1-1&text=Victoria+Farrell>
too.

My old website is here (2016-2019 Study Design) but still useful:
