[Year 12 SofDev] Slightly off topic question

I’ve shown my students some of the original MS DOS code to give them a small overview of what is really going on I the computer and that everything is based upon this interaction – just looking at the COPY command is enough to blow a few minds!

I’ve never taught it, or had a student want to – I personally don’t see much point until you’re really looking at algorithm optimization and that 0.001 second saving is critical but I doubt too many year 9’s are at that level yet!

I haven’t, but it gives me an idea …. A good way to embed some algorithmic thinking …?

Hi all,

Off topic question but has anyone taught assembly programming in the class room? I have a group of year 9’s that are interested in learning assembly and if they’re interested I’ll teach it.

Cheers,

Ben.
