[Year 12 SofDev] Sorting algorithm

Hi Mary,

By my reading, there’s nothing in U3O2 that requires specific sorting methods to be decided or explained. I think it’s enough (at this stage for assessment purposes) for students to note in their designs where sorting will be required. Similarly, there is nothing in U3O2 that mentions validation, but clearly the choice of input methods in the design will influence and be influenced by data validation requirements.

Subject: [Year 12 SofDev] Sorting algorithm

Hi all

I was hoping to gauge some feedback for the pseudocode designs. Students are now creating their final designs for their folio and according to the study design I haven't yet covered sorting (quick and selection) but students need it for their designs (U3O2).

Firstly, they are using VB, can they use built in methods to do alphabetical array.sort() or do they have to use one of the two listed and write the pseudocode for it? Are they allowed to use built in methods?

If anyone can help ASAP with feedback that would be greatly appreciated since their submission date for the folio is on Friday.

Thank you in anticipation.

Mary
