Dear colleagues

Digital Learning and Teaching Victoria, the new subject association to replace VITTA and ICTEV from 1 January 2014, is running a professional development program for VCE IT teachers on Friday 28 February. This continues a tradition of VITTA to provide professional learning early in the school year. The program will include information and advice from the VCAA about how to interpret, and comply with, the IT study design from both a curriculum and assessment perspective. However, the real features of the day are the two workshop sessions (Units 1 and 2, IT apps and Software Development) that explore topics such as semester planning, useful resources, techniques for developing fair and challenging assessment tasks, and teaching and learning activities.

Regardless of whether you will be new to teaching any of these units in 2014 or you are an experienced VCE IT teacher, I would urge you to participate in this program as we should always be learning. Program and registration details will be made available in January.

Regards
Paula
