This may be of interest to folk living in the south west district.
Does require jumping the border briefly. :)

Hi,

As an ICT professional or someone involved in a related discipline I thought
you would be interested in a forum to be held in Mt Gambier on the National
Broadband Network (NBN) in a fortnights time.

Guest speaker on the night will be Professor Reg Coutts who will talk on the
planning and implementation of the NBN and its implications for regional
Australia. He has previously conducted similar briefings around the country
to much acclaim, most recently in Perth.

Professor Coutts was part of the expert panel which advised the Government
during the formulation of the NBN proposal.

The forum will be conducted under the auspices of the Australian Computer
Society (ACS) who are hoping to generate enough interest to possibly open an
ACS chapter in Mount Gambier down the track.

Details are:

Thursday 22 October 7:00pm (7:15-9:00)
Silver Birch Motel
All Welcome (Soft drink & Nibbles!)

If you are interested in coming along, would you please register on the ACS
web site at http://snipurl.com/s8cy1

Also, should you have any associates, workmates or other people who you
think might be interested in the forum, feel free to invite them along or
forward on this email.

For further information give me (87255566) or Mandy Watson (ACS - 82717666)
a ring or visit the ACS web site.

Regards,

Rod Sparks (MACS)
